How i boosted my blog traffic in 5 easy steps!

There is nothing more discouraging than working so hard on your blog and have no one to read it after you have just spent literally hours writing your blog post, editing your photos, trying to come up with the best article possible, and when you finally hit publish and nothing. literally nothing. No one is reading your post.

I got just over 600 page views in my first week of blogging and if I had known back then what I know today, I would probably have reached a lot more readers than i did.

when first starting out I thought I could just write my blog post, publish it and all my readers/traffic would start rolling in. How wrong was I! it really does NOT work like that!

You can’t just wait for your readers to find you. I mean, you could do that of course, but your blog will never grow and you will never see the results that you are hoping for! what you can do is take the bull by the horns and take real actions to boost your blog traffic.

Here are the real actions I took to boost my blog traffic, and the ones I should have taken from day one.

1. Create Helpful Content

I know, you’ve probably already heard that and maybe you’re tired of reading this advice on every blog that you read. But this is the main way of growing your blog and boosting your traffic. Really! I cant tell you enough about how many blogs that I have seen posting about what they have done that day. no offence if you have this content on your blog as there are probably a lot of people reading and enjoying your content but this is never going to bring you any real traffic!

You need to create helpful, valuable, interesting content that YOU would actually enjoy reading, especially if you don’t have a blog that has millions of views (since you’re reading this post, I’m assuming you don’t). Put yourself in the reader’s position for a minute. Always ask yourself if you, as a reader, would click on that post if it was on somebody else’s blog and enjoy reading it.

You also need to think of a good, catchy title. Your title is the thing that makes people click on your post or not, so it’s kind of a big deal. I mean, why would you ever click on a post if the title doesn’t attract you in any way ? People need a reason to click on your posts. The only thing that you have to convince them to do so is your post’s title. You could write the most amazing post in the world, if its title is bad then no one is going to want to read it.

2. Become A Pinterest Pro

Pinterest is my main source of traffic, and probably my main source in the future as it has grown so much in the last couple of days. I now have over 60,000 monthly views on my Pinterest profile and obviously this is bringing traffic to my blog.

A big part of that growth is due to my intensive Pinterest strategy. I am pinning over 100 pins per day. I know it’s a lot! But the result is so worth it.

3. Be consistent

Probably the hardest part of blogging, for me at least, is being consistent in everything that you do is key for a successful blog that gets tons of traffic. You need to be consistent in your posting schedule, in your social media strategy, in your whole blogging organization.

Search engines recognize blogs that post regularly, and your readers will feel more connected to you if you stick to your social media schedule. Pinterest rewards you if you use it consistently (as mentioned in step 2). It is all a matter of consistency and perseverance.

4. Facebook Groups Are GOLD

Another main source of traffic for me is Facebook. Whenever I say that to someone, they usually think that I’m talking about my Facebook page. But no! I am a part of several great Facebook groups where I regularly share my blog posts and connect with other bloggers around the globe.

Facebook group are an amazing way to boost your blog traffic because they allow you to connect to thousands of bloggers and share your blog posts with them.

And lastly

5. Create A Newsletter

Newsletters are precious, because they allow you to send your new posts right into your readers inboxes. Your Newsletter readers are your loyal readers, so you want to make sure that you take good care of them. Send them freebies, exclusive posts, tips, anything that can retain them.

offer them something in return for their email address! (in my case a free crochet pattern download).
